HIV 1 and HIV 2 have different window periods because the RNA PCR and the P24 tests ONLY test for HIV 1. That said, the third gen test will test for both and at 28 days post exposure is already very accurate. At 35 days it is even more accurate. I personally would be 100% confident of a 3rd gen test at 6 weeks although the official recommendation is still 3 months. The other question to ask is why are you concerned about HIV 2
